                              RV Rubber Roofs
EPDM is one of the most versatile and long lastings materials ever manufactured for outdoor exposure. Most RV industry experts consider
EPMD rubber roofing membrane the most dependable , most cost effective and easiest to maintain roofing material there is.
Unfortunately there is a lot of mis-information about rubber roofs out there. Rvers are spending millions on unneeded products, many of which
can be harmful to EPDM rubber roofing.
EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer . Engineered specifications describe EPDM as ideal for outdoor applications because
of its resistance to ultra violet light, ozone, oxidant and severe weather conditions. EPDM rubber membrane is made to last years if properly
maintained. Petroleum distillates should never be applied to rubber roofs.
It is not necessary to protect your rubber roof against UV light. Periodic cleaning is required maintenance. Using petroleum distillates can void
your warranty. Oxidation is normal and the rubber will lose 10 % of its thickness in 12 years or so. Cleaning the rubber roof membrane at least
4 times a year can greatly help to lower the amount of white streaks that end up on the sides of your RV  after it rains. . Do not use cleaners or
conditioners containing petroleum solvents, harsh abrasives or citric based cleaners. You may cause irreparable damage to your roof. Use
cation when working on your rubber roof it can be very slippery when wet.
